So lemonade is delicious in summertime, is it not? Here’s a slight variation to the typical lemonade recipe:
Ingredients:
1 pint blackberries (*or you can do a whole carton if you like the tangy, tart taste better in your lemonades)
1/2 lemon (zested)
7 whole lemons (to be squeezed)
1 & 1/2 cups of white sugar
5 cups of water
- Juice the lemons. Remove seeds; strain pulp if desired (although I personally think it makes the lemonade yummier!)
- Heat sugar and 2 cups of water to boiling & stir to dissolve all of the sugar. Let it cool in the refrigerator for at least half an hour afterward.
- Mash up 1 cup blackberries with a fork; you’ll end up with about 1/3 cup of blackberry puree.
- Mix lemon juices, sugar water, remaining water (3 cups) & blackberry puree all together! Then refrigerate until it’s chilled.
