Lessons for Toddlers #2

Below is another outline from a toddler lesson I did with my 18 month old little girl.

Book: Brown Bear, Brown Bear, What Do You See?

Song: Colors of the Rainbow (signing time)

See the preview below to learn the tune and the sign language for these colors.

Game: Hold up one color on the popsicle stick at a time and have your toddler choose the matching color from a bowl of Pom-Pom balls.

Prep and materials needed for this game: Cut circles out of different colored construction paper and glue on the end of popsicle sticks. Buy a bag of large multi-colored Pom-poms. Put all of the Pom-Poms in a bowl for the activity.

Classical Music/Dancing: Rachmaninov: Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini Op. 43, Var. No. 18

Exercise: Set out different colored balls across the room and ask your little one to run and pick a specific color to bring back to you. Have child march around a colored blanket and when you stop the music he/she has to jump onto the blanket. Repeat marching & then jumping until the song ends.

Hope you’re enjoying these little lessons with your toddler 🙂
