“Problems are not stop signs, they are guidelines.”- Robert H. Schuller

We shouldn’t give up at the signs of adversity but rather learn from it.

“A happy life is a balanced life. Be kind – but not a doormat.  Be trusting – but value boundaries and intuition. Be content- but stay open to still growing.” -Karen Salmansohn

Balance and moderation are so important, for me the last one is the hardest.  I’m often content and complacent or ill content and pushing myself, but neither one is optimal.  I’m happiest and most successful when I can be happy with what I’ve done while still striving to do more.

“Courage isn’t always a lion’s roar.  It’s also the silence of ant working patiently persistently and never giving up.” -Unknown

Often the things that take the most courage in our daily lives are not grand nor accompanied by fanfare but that doesn’t make them any less important or demanding of courage.

“All life is an experiment.  The more experiments you make, the better.” -Ralph Waldo Emerson

Life is a learning experience and experiments help us learn, I don’t think it’s any coincidence that those two words have the same root.  Faith is a wonderful example of this, we’re here to prove our faith and it begins as we experiment on the word of Christ.

“When everything is going against you, remember that the airplane takes off into the wind, not with it.” -Henry Ford

We can only fly through adversity, without the opposition/resistance we don’t have enough to lift us up.
